Programs

Aligned with our mission, CAGE is dedicated to providing quality programs throughout the Philadelphia Region and beyond.
We offer: public and private performances, teaching artist workshops and residencies, dance troupe professional development, and more. Programs are provided in-person and online, following COVID-19 health and safety measures.

Khmer Language & Arts (KLA) Program

A collaborative program presented by CAGE and the Cambodian Association of Greater Philadelphia.  Khmer Language & Arts Program (KLA) provides weekly classes (October-May) to introduce, teach, and enrich Philadelphia's community through Khmer arts and culture.  KLA offers: Beginner's Cambodian Classical Dance Class, Intermediate Cambodian Classical Dance Class, Advanced Cambodian Classical Dance Class, Language and Cultural Immersion, and more.

Professional Dance Troupe

CAGE provides the opportunity for Cambodian dance artists to develop professional skills and artist portfolios.  This program also trains Cambodian dance artists to become high-quality teaching artists.  Professional troupe members audition into the program and upon acceptance gain access to performance, professional development, and artistic enhancement opportunities.

CAGE offers private and public performances. For public performances (ex: block parties, non-ticketed events), CAGE offers performance rates on a sliding scale model to ensure we are able to provide equitable performance services. Private events (ex: weddings, birthday parties, or ticketed events) performance rates are non-negotiable and may include a travel fee if the event is more than 10 miles away from our studio location. You can request a CAGE Professional Dance Troupe performance by emailing us at [email protected]

Southeast Asian Emersion Lab

The Southeast Asian Emersion Lab (SAEL) is an initiative to support emerging and new Southeast Asian artists and crafts people. The SAEL Lab offers folks the opportunity to engage in Southeast Asian led projects and events that highlight their art and crafts. The goal of this program is to support artists and crafts people in our community as they explore the possibilities of become a small business, professional artists, or join local markets as vendors. This program is specifically focused on supporting artists and craftspeople who identify as Southeast Asian and/or their work directly supports the local Southeast Asian community of the Philadelphia region.

Justice, Organizing & You

Justice, Organizing & You (JOY) is a capacity-building program centering intergenerational and interracial collective joy as an essential part of organizing. The Cambodian American and broader Asian American community has a longstanding history of social justice organizing and allyship. As an arts & culture nonprofit, CAGE is able to support the capacity building of our local organizers by sharing our space and art practices. We are centering joy as a part of community care and wellness.
